The Summer I was Young Again - Alternate Ending A (25852)The Summer I was Young Again - Ending A (25852)
story by Jephael
Jeff and the Turtles waited quietly as Splinter looked over the two switches that would determine the universe's fate. One was marked 16725, and the other 25852. He thought long and hard over the consequences that would befall the world if he made the wrong choice. Splinter took a deep breath as he reached his hand out towards the console and pressed his finger down on the second button.
"It... it's not stopping!" Don said in shock as he concentrated on the clock's dial. "It's getting faster."
"So like, what's that mean dude?" Mike asked.
"It means we're history if we don't get outta here!" Raphael said as he pointed to the portal which began to pick up speed as well.
"It's turning into a whirlwind again!" Jeff exclaimed.
"What do you mean again?" Raphael asked.
"It did the same thing when Bebop zapped me with some weird ray."
"Then if you were sent through that way, then ..." before Leonardo had the chance to finish, the portal's wind began picking up so much that clothes from the battered Foot Soldiers began flying everywhere. "Quick, lets get back to the van!"
As the group began to make a getaway, the wind picked up even stronger, causing Splinter to loose his footing. "Oh no, Sensei!!!" Raphael jumped towards Splinter, as did Jeff. Michaelangelo ran to save them while Leo and Don got into the van.
"We've got to save them!"
"Then hit the pedal to the metal, Leonardo!"
Leonardo drove into the control room where he and Donatello could see Mikey struggling to keep ahold of a console while he attempted to reel in his friends with his grappling hook. "Come on dudes, you're almost there!" He reached his hand out to Splinter's, but just when they managed to grab hold of each other, the rope snapped. Raphael and Jeff went flying into the portal together as Splinter and Michaelangelo followed not far behind. Leo and Don looked in horror as the wormhole sucked their friends into the time warp. The two remaining brothers looked to one another, and then the portal which was beginning to close. Without hesitation, Leonardo slammed his foot onto the gas, making the van hurl itself into the portal.
By the time the portal in the Technodrome finally closed, Shredder and his gang had escaped the forcefield just in time to witness the time-pull reversing the real world.
"Those foolish Turtles have done just what I hoped they would do!" Krang watched gleefully as the Technodrome itself was pulled into its own warp. Energy beams engulfed the fortress, which soon vanished in a flash of light, causing thousands of large air bubbles to float to the ocean's surface until all was quiet once more.

It was dark in Jeff's room where he awoke, startled by something. "Geez, what a weird dream!" he said feeling his face which was indeed not green, nor were his arms. "Wait a minute. Why was I green?" his memory of the dream was slipping slowly, as they normally do. But chunks of strange visions started to flash through his mind. "I have got to stop watching Ren and Stimpy!" he told himself quietly as he headed to the bathroom. For some reason he seriously had to wash his face. Looking into the mirror, he noticed something he thought was strange - a green eye mask with a red bandana were tied around his neck. "Great, I look like a Ninja Turtle!" he joked, when he noticed that he was wearing his favorite ensemble. "My Ninja Turtle pajamas, and my Ski Ninjas T-shirt! I thought they were long gone! Wait a minute. How could they be long gone if I've only had them for a year? They're even still in good condition." As he pulled at the waist band of the shorts, he could feel something poking at his backside. He reached back to see that he had a nunchuck in his hand.
Jeff decided he needed to sit down, so he sat on the toilet to let his mind rest. He suddenly felt a strange sense of de ja vue as he looked around. "Maybe I'll take a warm bath to clear my head." The boy removed his shirt and socks and pulled the shower curtain back, only to receive a startling discovery. At first he figured somehow a few of his Ninja Turtle toys had grown to full-sized, but then one of them said "Jeff! What's the haps, micro-dude?"
"Holy Guacamole! You know my name?"
"No duh!" the life-sized Michaelangelo said as he eased himself out of the tub. "Hey if we're here, where are your friends?"
"Who?"
"You know, the boy and the girl."
"Uh, Missy and Joey?"
"That wasn't their names!" Raphael spoke.
"My Turtles, I fear the worst has happened." Splinter exclaimed. "Do you not remember the time-pull device in the Technodrome?"
"That's right. We had to stop Shredder and Krang from reversing the time-pull and making that 3-D world go back half a decade... give or take a couple of years." Mikey responded.
"Wait a minute. You aren't saying, that we... we're in the 3rd Dimension?"
"Dude, look at us. We aren't exactly animated any more! Well, we sorta still are, but kinda like Roger Rabbit or something to that effect."
Raph groaned while talking to his sensei. "So if we're here in those kids' world, and it's 1992..."
"They will mostly likely have no memory of what transpired in their original 1999 either." Splinter finished. "In fact, I fear our young friend Jeff here has forgotten as well. Since everything is now as it was back in 1992, the warp was meant to return Jeff to his home, which is where he was at this point in time."
"I guess that's right. I seem to recall having this weird dream that me and these older kids were hanging out. Then I turned green and the Shredder had you pinned in some sort of electro box or something."
"It's as I figured. Because you were thrown into the warp along with us, your memory wasn't reversed as thoroughly as everyone else's from this world. You may even have the ability to recollect certain events that happened in the original '90s."
"Now that sounds truly awesome!" Jeff said aloud.
"Hey, he's still acting like me! You don't suppose he still has those mutant powers, do you?" Mike asked.
"I wouldn't know. Donatello would have to perform some more tests."
"Hey, where is he, and Leonardo?" Raphael asked.
"They got into the Turtle Van just before we were sucked into the warp. They could have been able to stop the Technodrome from coming along with us."
"I wouldn't count on that guys." Jeff said as he looked through the window.
The four of them peered down to the back of the house where the Turtle Van landed just near the patio. Leonardo and Donatello suddenly came tumbling out of the van. The two had apparently driven the van through the strange warp, making them seasick. They seemed to be in good spirits though.
"We better get down there and let em know we're okay." Raph spoke.
Jeff put his shirt and socks back on as well as a pair of sneakers before heading downstairs quietly with Mike, Raph and Splinter following. The Turtles were very quiet as they crept through the kitchen. Jeff opened the back door which two cats went running to for a chance to go outside. As Raphael was about to go onto the porch, Don and Leo were both trying to enter the kitchen.
"Hi guys! Did you have a good trip?"
"Not really! That warp threw us around like a roller coaster!" Leo said sounding woozy.
That very moment, two adults entered the kitchen, a balding thin man and a portly, short lady with thick glasses on. The Turtles grinned sheepishly as Splinter bowed. "Forgive us. I assume you are Jeffrey's parents."
"Who're you people, and why are you in those weird costumes?"
"Uh Mom, those definitely aren't costumes. They're really the Ninja Turtles."
"We better tell them how we got here." Leo suggested.
"Good idea. Hey, do you think we should mention that power Jeff got?"
"Lets cross that bridge when we come to it, Raphael." Splinter responded.
While Splinter explained to Jeff and his family what had happened with the time-pull, the Turtles walked outside to the van to figure out what to do next. The group now felt stranded and helpless. "Donatello, is there any way we can return home?" Leonardo asked.
"I'm afraid the chances of that happening are very slim. Since the timeline could only be reversed from our animated dimension, there's a safe bet it can't be restored."
"That's a total bummer, man!"
"However, there is the possibility of being able to bring certain items from our world to this universe. I could rig up a special converter with my portable portal generator here in the van and try bringing something small like our cheapskates."
"That would be great, but the cheapskates are in the van where we always keep them." Mikey corrected.
"What about trying to pull someone through, like April?" Raphael asked.
"It could work. But I won't be able to make any guarantees."
That moment, Jeff came running outside excited. "Hey guys, Splinter's talking with my parents about letting you guys stay here!"
"That would be great! Except we don't know where here is."
"Don't knock it, dudes! Atleast we won't be living in the sewers anymore." Michaelangelo said.
"No, you'll be living in the basement. But trust me, it'll be a thousand times better!"
A few hours later, Leonardo, Raphael and Jeff's dad were preparing the Turtles' sleeping quarters. Meanwhile, Donatello performed the DNA test yet again on Jeff to see if he still possessed Don and Mike's genetic chromosomes. "This checks out positive. He's still part Ninja Turtle, and odds are the time rift we went through made it more stable. Only I have a feeling that I'll need to teach him how to mutate whenever it might be necessary."
Suddenly, the telephone rang. Jeff immediatly picked it up. "Hello? Oh, hi Wendy. Really? All right. I'll see ya then." As Jeff hung up the phone he glanced at Mikey and started grinning. "Hey Michaelangelo, would you like to go with me for a swim later? My cousin down the street just invited me."
"For sure, dude!"
"I don't know if that's a good idea, you guys." Leo complained.
"Oh come on Leo, we're famous here! Noone's gonna hassle us."
"He's got you there, Leonardo!" Don said with a smirk.
After eating some pizza for lunch, Jeff and Michaelangelo started walking over to Wendy's house. While walking past the farm, Jeff's other cousins Missy and Joey ran over to see him. Both were obviously shocked by the sight of a live Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle standing there. "Hey Jeff, is that who I think it is?"
"Yep, it's Michaelangelo! He and Raph appeared out of nowhere in my room this morning. It was the freakiest thing!"
"That's neat! Hey, what about Leo and Don? Are they here too?" Joe asked.
"For sure, micro-dude. They're at his place with Master Splinter."
"Cool! Hey, are you guys going over to Wendy's?"
"Yeah, she invited me to go swimming, so I thought I'd take Mikey with me! Are you guys going too?"
"Uh huh. She invited us this morning also."
"I guess she won't mind if we bring him along then."
"No, but her parents might get grossed out!"
Minutes later, Jeff, his cousins and Michaelangelo were at their other cousin's house. Noone seemed to be in the driveway so they continued to head towards the pool where Wendy and her sister Dawn were already swimming. "Hey guys, come on in!" Wendy waved.
"Who's your friend in the Ninja Turtle costume?" Dawn asked.
"That is a Ninja Turtle. He just kinda showed up in my house last night with the other Turtles."
"Oh my gosh, that really is Michaelangelo. He's even animated!" Wendy said.
"Yeah, Jeff even becomes animated when he's a turtle himself!" Michaelangelo remarked.
"Jeff ... a turtle?"
"Well, it's kind of a long story."
For the rest of the summer, Jeff introduced the Ninja Turtles to most of his family. Some were confused about how the Turtles became real, even after Donatello would explain how it all happened during their last battle with Shredder. Splinter himself was certain though they would eventually have to confront their enemy yet again, and when they did they would be ready!

Jeff,
Your story was superb! I really enjoyed reading it; you have a gift!!! I thought that making up two different endings was extremely creative. Way to go on a job well done!
