story by Jephael
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This story takes place in the spring of 1998, half a year after the events of "Seven Shredders".
It was a quiet morning in the underground sewer lair of the Ninja Turtles when April came running in. "Guys? Guys, are you up?"
"We are now." Raphael said with a groan as he and the other Turtles hopped out of their rooms.
"What's the haps, dudette? It's kinda early to be paying us a visit." Michaelangelo remarked.
"This can't wait! Where's Master Splinter? He's really going to want to hear about this!"
"He's probably in the kitchen preparing himself some tea and sushi." Leonardo answered.
"Indeed I was." Splinter said as he joined his former students and their long time best friend. "What brings you down here in this early hour, April?"
"It's the Foot Clan... the original Foot Clan in Japan that Shredder got you kicked out of! Apparently Oroku Saki came back to Earth some time last night and just turned himself in."
"If that is true, then my name may finally be cleared. Have I long dreamed of this moment!" Splinter said as tears welled up in his eyes. "I must travel to Japan immediately!"
"Would you like us to join you?" Donatello asked.
"It would mean the world to me if you all came along."
After a very long flight, the group was now in Splinter's home town. "Man, that was a cushy flight!" Raphael said.
"For sure! It's awful nice of Donald Lofty Junior to lend us his private jet!" Mikey boasted.
"I never really thought much about it before, but the Turtle Blimp isn't exactly the best at high speed air travel." Don admitted.
"Guys, shush. Somebody's approaching us." Leonardo said.
Two very familiar figures walked up to the Turtles, Splinter and April with open arms.
"Ah, Yoku and Master Mogo-San." Splinter said as he and the Turtles all bowed. "How wonderful it is to see you here."
"Likewise. We have been trying for years to have your name cleared with the Foot Clan, but sadly the clan whose sensei you were framed for attempting to murder would not listen to reason." the young man spoke.
"Who else has been on this case?" Leo asked.
"Believe it or not, Saki's own brother Oroku Kazuo."
"Wait, I thought his name was Kazuo Saki!" April said.
"Yes, apparently there was a clerical error in Little Tokyo's police precinct around the time we crossed paths with him." Splinter remarked.
"Enough banter! Let us make haste to the ceremony!" Master Mogo-San said as he hailed the group a cab.
After a half hour drive to the dojo, Mogo-San and his grandson Yoku lead Splinter into the temple where they were greeted by Kazuo. "It is good to see you again, my friend."
"Likewise, Lieutenant Oroku."
"Actually, I am now a detective. It was my absolute shock when my own evil brother showed up at my very doorstep, telling me he had enough and wished to turn himself in."
"It's possible that ordeal with the beam that split him into seven different incarnations of his personality may have finally brought out his inner conscience."
"No, I just couldn't take anymore of Krang's nagging!" a familiar voice rang out from another room.
"Silence, prisoner."
Kazuo lead Master Splinter into the room where Oroku Saki was handcuffed to a chair and flanked by two Foot Soldier guards. "Brother, are you ready to stand trial for your crimes?"
Saki let out a deep breath. "Yes, indeed I am."
"You are aware that as punishment for the dishonor you brought to our family, the noble Foot Clan and Hamato Yoshi, there is a good chance that you will most likely be sentenced to death."
"That would put a damper on this year's Christmas card." Saki said with a chuckle. "All kidding aside though, I have had a bit of a change of heart since my last encounter with Miss O'Neil and those wretched reptiles. Ahem, sorry that was a force of habit."
Splinter knelt down and looked the pitiful former villain in the eyes. "Shredder, I once saw you as formidable competition, and we competed many times in our youth, but I had respect for you nonetheless. You lost that respect the day you had me framed and thrown out of the Foot Clan!"
Saki groaned in frustration. "If I had known what a pain in the butt you and those turtles of yours would turn out to be..."
"That is enough, my brotheri! It is time!" Detective Oroku spoke.
The guards escorted Shredder into the main chamber of the dojo where April and the Turtles have been waiting.
"Hamato Yoshi, we humbly apologize for banishing you from the Foot Clan under the assumption of attempted assassination. Your rank as shidoshi has been reinstated! Furthermore, your students Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michaelangelo are welcome to be full members of the Foot Clan."
"Is anybody else a little weirded out by that concept?" Raphael said, though he quickly retracted his statement when the other three Turtles looked angrily at him.
"Oroku Saki, for your dishonorable actions that have forever tainted the Foot Clan, we now sentence you to death via seppuku."
Saki was handed a large knife and instructed to shove it into his heart. Taking one last look at his enemies and his brothers, Shredder closed his eyes tightly and thrust the blade through his chest.
Donatello, Raphael and April all winced, while Michaelangelo struggled to keep from puking up his lunch.
"Who would like the honor of beheading this treacherous fiend?"
Leonardo meekly raised his hand and drew his own katana blade. "Farewell forever, old enemy!" he said with a sneer as he looked the dying evil ninja in the eyes before delivering the final blow.
After bidding farewell to their hosts, April, Splinter and the Turtles headed back home.
"Boy, that was... some ceremony!" Donatello spoke.
"For sure. I guess it's official, we'll never see or hear from Shredder ever again!" Michaelangelo stated.
"Atleast not in this timeline." Raphael remarked. "Hey Leonardo, you okay? You've been staring out that window looking out into the stars for a whole hour!"
"Huh? Oh yea. I guess I'm just overcome with shock. All these years dealing with Shredder, and we could've simply taken his life at any time!"
"True, but if it had happened sooner, our show wouldn't have lasted as long." Michaelangelo joked. "Man, this sure is a long flight. How long before we get back to New York?"
"Actually, we're not going back home just yet." April answered. "I just got off the phone with my boss at Channel 6, and we've all been invited to visit to Malicuria!"
"Now why does that name sound so familiar?" Raphael asked in a very sarcastic manner.
